In this mischievous new one-act from Spanish playwright Emilio Williams, protagonist Asun spins through a surreal sequence of regret after breaking off her engagement. Williams approaches his convoluted subject with a convoluted plot—the line between dream and reality remains hazy—but Asun's remorse rings through clearly. Williams has a taste for the meta, which Reader critic Dan Jakes thought felt "puffed up" in Tables and Beds, his other show currently at Stage 773. But under Alexandra Meda's direction, Teatro Luna's tight cast make this play's oddest scenes some of its best. Abigail Vega electrifies as Asun, most memorably in an excoriating late-night call to Williams himself. When the script falters, it's the forgivable clumsiness of groping for elusive truths. —Keith Griffith
