Sideshow Theatre presents a one-night-only streaming benefit screening of its 2018 production, written by Mia Chung and directed by Elly Green. Chung's hallucinatory drama follows two sisters from North Korea who are separated at the border and whose lives diverge into two different paths, each filled with strange characters and unsettling events. Reader critic Jack Helbig wrote that the 2018 production showed "considerable grace and power, thanks in part to Green’s fine, on-point ensemble. Helen Joo Lee and Jin Park are especially moving as the sisters." Up until Wednesday, February 24, patrons can order a "dinner and a show" $40 package through Paramount Catering. Sideshow will also donate a portion of the proceeds to the "Farm, Food, Familias" mutual aid project, which delivers meals to families in Little Village, Englewood and South Chicago.
