Comedy, Drama, Romantic comedy
A hip San Francisco couple, bored with their routine sex life, hesitantly contemplate swinging. The conversation in this low-budget comedy contains lots of dirty talk, though it focuses, refreshingly, on the mundane aspects of long-term intimacy: these characters are comfortable with each others' bodies and unafraid to say so. Director Richard Wong and writer H.P. Mendoza (the team behind Colma: The Musical) maintain a proudly local perspective and deliver the verbal humor at a fast clip. They seem to be after a 21st-century update of the short, earthy comedies that Hollywood produced in the pre-Code era (James Whale's The Impatient Maiden, Raoul Walsh's Sailor's Luck), and though this doesn't measure up to the best of that genre (the acting can be downright amateurish), it scores points for honesty and likability.
Director: Richard Wong
Producer: Duane Andersen and Theresa Navarro
Cast: Lynn Chen, Parry Shen, Sheetal Sheth, Kerry McCrohan, Dave Boyle, H.P. Mendoza, Tasi Alabastro, Nishea Andolong, Megan Joy, Mariana Lopez and Theresa Navarro
