The title of Daphne Watson’s new drama is very literal, and the walls of the McKaw Theater are covered in messages that range from inspirational to silly to unnerving. The patrons of the play's bar/poetry venue Entre Nous are encouraged to write their thoughts on the walls, and 24-year-old Julian (Chris Clark) uses this as a cry for help when he puts his suicidal feelings into words. Clark’s performance provides nuance that the script lacks, and he’s internalized Julian’s childhood trauma to a point where it’s easy to believe that he’s never recovered from the death of his best friend 16 years ago. The hour-long show is full of big emotional peaks, but clumsy transitions make those moments feel unearned, no matter how many tears the actors are able to summon. —Oliver Sava
