Work From the Orgone Archive

Greg Pierce curated these two programs of experimental whatnot from the Orgone Archive in Pittsburgh. Screening at the University of Chicago Film Studies Center, “Kaleidokodascopic: An Orgone Inventory (1918-1942)” is a collection of vintage 16-millimeter rental prints, including A Few Tests of Child Intelligence (1931) and Capturing Lions by Aeroplane (1919). Screening at Chicago Filmmakers, “The Autofilmography of Fred McLeod or The Film You Are Looking for Is Not on This Reel” features an anthology of amateur films by Fred McLeod of Oakmont, Pennsylvania, and such artifacts as rushes from George Romero's Dawn of the Dead and a camera roll of Stan Brakhage speaking at Chatham College.
