Wonder Women: The Untold Story of American Superheroines

When: Wed., Feb. 20, 7:30 p.m. 2013
Price: $8
Much like the workforce of yesteryear, the superhero genre is largely dominated by men. Meanwhile, female superheroes are sexier, cooler, and not fueled by testosterone. Screening as part of Feminism Flatlined: The New Girl Series, the documentary Wonder Women: The Untold Story of American Superheroines celebrates superwomen of the fictional ilk, but also real-life feminist superheroes like Gloria Steinem and Kathleen Hanna (Bikini Kill, Le Tigre). Comics artist and experimental filmmaker Lyra Hill will conduct a Q&A following the screening.
