this is a great place to eat on a warm sunny afternoon--only if you have all afternoon. it's a fun little atmosphere, and I really don't mind waiting in that type of situation, but the last time we were there we sat for about 25 minutes before even approached by a server--when I walked up to let her know that we were there, she snapped that someone will be with us in a minute. 25 minutes later, when she came to our table she didn't know the beer selection and that took another 15 minutes to find out--only to find that they were out of half of the list. the servers all have the attitude that they're better than everyone and that you're an annoyance to them, and no one ever taught them how to hustle. "we'll get to you if and when we get to you" seems to be the theme here. the food here is actually very good--the chicken pesto salad is my favorite. it just takes an extremely long time to come (roughly 45 minutes) and this is after the wait for service and then drinks. not a place to eat if you're hungry NOW. eat here if you anticipate hunger in the next 2 hours or so.

We live right down the street from here, and even driving by, it is a welcoming site--there are flower boxes all around a big open windowed storefront. Inside you can see the simple elegance of the place--flowers on the tables with white cloth tablecloths and a great vibe as soon as you walk in the door. It is BYO, and conveniently there is a liquor store right across the street. We brought our own wine and our server opened it for us and poured it into wine glasses that they have available. As an appetizer we got the sauteed sea scallops in a bed of spinach. It was absolutely wonderful; the scallops were cooked just right. For dinner we ordered the skirt steak and linguini with scallops. Both had amazing flavor and very generous portions for the modest prices. For dessert we had espresso flan and tirimisu--the tirimisu was honestly the best that I've tasted. Definitely save room for desert here--they are all made in house, so they are delicious and fresh. They are open late and have a weekend brunch that I am definitely going to try. Overall it was a great dining experience--great for a date or even a dinner with a group of friends. The minute you walk in you are made to feel welcome and the feel of the place is sweetly intimate and inviting.
