Your decision to remove art listings and replace them with photos of the art [March 9] is tacky and a slap in the face to the art community. Where are the articles and reviews?

The editors reply:

We thought it made sense to devote more of the limited space in our pages to actual art, and many letter writers seem to like that decision, though others have sent complaints like this one. We'll continue to run art writing in print (see Bert Stabler's review in this section, for instance), and we still offer our comprehensive guide to galleries and museums online, where it's easier to navigate and we're not constrained by the cost of newsprint.
