Welcome to Leith

86 minutes · 2015

In 2012 white supremacist Craig Cobb moved to the tiny North Dakota town of Leith (population 24) hoping to attract enough like-minded people to take over the local government. This documentary follows his progress over the course of a year and profiles longtime residents of the town who sought to undermine him. Directors Michael Beach Nichols and Christopher K. Walker achieve a remarkable degree of intimacy with their subjects—particularly Cobb, who comes to seem as pathetic as he does monstrous. T. Griffin's eerie score, which sounds like something out of a horror movie, adds to the mounting sense of dread.
