Wanderlust

Wiped out financially by job loss and a bad real estate deal, a Manhattan couple (Paul Rudd and Jennifer Aniston) head south to lodge with relatives but en route stumble upon a rural commune where they get a chance to let it all hang out. Like everything else from the comedy factory of producer Judd Apatow, this is heavily improvised, which turns the stars into writers and tends to generate clever moments even as it irons out whatever perspective the movie might have had. Being taken under Apatow's wing may have been a big career break for writer-director David Wain, but this lacks the sharp personality of some of his earlier movies (Role Models, Wet Hot American Summer).
