Waiting for Drew Peterson | Annoyance Theatre | Theater & Performance | Chicago Reader
This is a past event.
When: Thursdays. Continues through July 7 2011
Price: $8-$10
Twins Pam and Sue both dream of becoming the fifth wife of Drew Peterson, the former Bolingbrook police sergeant suspected of killing wives three and four. The sisters divide their time between manifesting a Drew-ful future by thanking the universe for it in advance a la The Secret and recording their podcast dedicated to the man and his previous wives--"two of whom," they point out, "aren't dead or missing." The deeply creepy script by Nancy Friedrich and Amy Speckien brilliantly satirizes our obsession with fame and our faith in wishful thinking. The performances are deliriously funny--particularly Friedrich's as Pam, whose twisted ditziness suggests equal parts Gracie Allen and an escaped mental patient. --Zac Thompson
