I'm going to try a cup of the high powered stuff at Beatrix-- There's some credibility in a concoction originating in Tibet.

That said, it sounds like Mr Bulletproof substituted MCT for genuine organic coconut oil. MCT is manufactured coconut oil minus the healthiest ingredient of coconut oil: Lauric Acid. I'm surprised he didn't offer a reason for doing this-- if he has, I haven't found it.

Coconut oil is about 50% lauric acid, making it nature’s richest source of lauric acid. Lauric acid is the star component in coconut oil, but missing in MCT oil. If MCT oil was the fractionation of all of the MCTs in coconut oil, it would be about 80% lauric acid. But it is not. It is zero percent lauric acid.

Based on the reading I've done so far, I would stick with coconut oil & butter rather than MCT & butter.
