Peaches is better known, but Viki, aka Vixxen Hott, has been doing a sexy weirdo shtick for just as long. There aren't actually many similarities between the two: Peaches's act is about control, and her songs are as accessible as X-rated lo-fi electronica can be; Viki goes with a confused demeanor and complex timing. Like her peers on the Detroit savant-garde scene, Wolf Eyes and Maximum Cloud (with whom she's collaborated), she modifies synths and keyboards so that when triggered they spit out a series of panic-attack-inducing squeals. Viki doesn't try to tame her beasts too often, and the result is usually a hazy space-jam fragment booby-trapped with what sounds like heavily processed crotch-rocket revs and alarm clocks. Her second self-released CD-R, Full Time, is a masterpiece of crapulence: the sleeve is decorated with two kinds of tape (duct and cellophane), she only bothers to name one of the six tracks (it's called "Don't Give My Phone Number Out"), and her song structures could only make sense to an avid Glade huffer. But fortunately Viki knows that a simple bitch-slappin' beat on a bargain-basement drum machine is all you really need to get asses tossing. She's got a track on a forthcoming comp from the Minneapolis avant-chaos label Freedom From, which put together this bill; New Faggot Cunts, No Doctors, Death Beam, Neon Hunk, and Pengo also perform. Monday, January 14, 9:30 PM, Empty Bottle, 1035 N. Western; 773-276-3600.
