Suspense writer Ira Levin (Rosemary's Baby, The Stepford Wives, Deathtrap) penned this 1973 drama about a young woman lured into a creepy role-playing game: she is to impersonate a girl who died 35 years earlier while confined to her bedroom. As the mystery unfolds, elements of incest, necrophilia, murder, and madness appear. BoHo Theatre's production, directed by Charles Riffenburg, nicely balances Levin's blend of macabre horror and dark humor but fails to solve the play's underlying problem: the implausible premise that a smart college coed would get sucked into such a bizarre situation in the first place. —Albert Williams
