In his ebullient one-man show Micah McCain, who performed in LA as a drag queen for ten years, explores what it means to go onstage without a wig and makeup--though he does occasionally slip on a pair of heels and don a little sparkle. Bounding across the stage, he tells funny anecdotes about his life and sings his own lyrics to well-known tunes. McCain has such a warm, honest rapport with the audience that he's endearing even when he laughs at his own sly puns and eyebrow-raising quips. And his cloudy voice is perfect for parody: he makes drag dressing hilarious in his version of Sondheim's "Putting It Together." He's even charming enough to carry off wince-inducing power ballads. Through 11/13: Wed-Thu 8 PM, Sat 7 PM, Sun 5 PM. Bailiwick Repertory, Bailiwick Arts Center, 1229 W. Belmont, 773-883-1090. $20. Closing.
