English prof Jacqueline Goldsby keynotes the university's 30th annual daylong celebration of the humanities with "A Salon for the Masses: Black Chicago's Book Review and Lecture Forum, 1933-53" (11 AM, Mandel Hall, 1135 E. 57th). For more programs, including lectures, music performances, and film screenings (all on the Hyde Park campus in three sessions at 9:30 AM, 2 PM, and 3:30 PM), and to register in advance, visit humanities.uchicago.edu/humanitiesday. Day-of registration starts at 8:30 AM at Stuart Hall, 5835 S. Greenwood.
