The score is grating, the story vague, and the characters stock in this musical comedy from Three Legged Race. Greg Landgraf's riff on the fantasy genre follows a bard suckered by a cruel baron who wants to use his hamlet's population of enslaved unicorns to boost tourism. Meanwhile, the unicorns plot revolt and entertain savage notions about what they'd like to do to their human captors. The single gag--unicorns are evil!--wears thin quickly. Joseph Lewis's cast are clearly having fun, though, and the loose standards for audience decorum--there was lots of loud chatter and flash photography at the performance I saw--may appeal to the post-bar set. --Keith Griffith
