Home hospice nurse Catherine Gallogly has poignant, disarmingly matter-of-fact stories to tell about assisting people as they prepare for death. Although she's stiff and hesitant through most of this 70-minute autobiographical piece, she captures exquisitely personal moments--as when a dying old man and his wife nuzzle like adolescents--with simple, well-chosen details that leave room for an audience member's imagination. It's a shame she reads nearly everything from a script; it makes her seem removed from her own stories and robs the piece of intimacy and immediacy. A smattering of cabaret songs are performed well by Gallogly's daughter Ann, but seems merely decorative. --Justin Hayford
