Twin Falls Idaho

Rejected by their mother and scrutinized or exploited by almost everyone else they encounter, conjoined twins Blake and Francis Falls meet Penny, eventually developing a deeper relationship with her than they've had with anyone but each other. With its persuasive special effects, gentle pace, and more expressionistic than surreal production design, this serious yet far from ponderous drama is something of a marvel—though a wary moralizing that diffuses the characters' points of view may keep the material overly literal. Director Michael Polish wrote the screenplay with Mark Polish; with Michele Hicks.
