Cafe Luciano is one of the first restaurants I ever visited in Chicago. I continue to go back several times a month. The food is quite good - Solid Italian fare on the menu and creative monthly specials. The new menu features more variety than they have had in the past - more steaks and chop (as good as I've had in Chicago), fresh seafood, chicken, veal and, of course, pasta. The portions are big but not overwhelming and the prices make Luciano's a great value on Rush Street.

The wine list has a large selection of wines by the glass and the bottle list is extensive enough the most everyone can find a good bottle to compliment their meal. Like the food, all the wines are priced quite moderately.

Service is usually quick and friendly. It's generally very busy, especially on weekends, but I've never had a bad service experience at Luciano's.

The restaurant has a large window in the front that overlooks Rush Street. In the warmer months the window comes out and you can sit and be a part of the action passing by on Rush Street. There is also seating offered in an outdoor cafe during the summer months.

If sitting and relaxing is what you are looking for, Luciano's has a very nice bar where you can enjoy some wine or have a cocktail. The drinks are generous and not overpriced. On the back side of the bar is a large parlor with soft seating and a big screen TV where you can talk, have dessert or watch a ballgame.

All around Luciano's is a nice experience. The food is good, the service is attentive, the ambiance is enhanced with live piano music at night and it is a great value on Rush Street.
