Save to foursquare
Oak Park spot for wood-fired pizzas and Italian standards, now under new ownership.

Our Review

Oak Park’s arts district has needed a good neighborhood restaurant for a good long time. Trattoria 225 tries to fulfill that need. We appreciated wine-by-the-glass options of three- or six-ounce pours. Grilled octopus was crunchy and sweet, though clams casino were meh. Arctic char, the "sustainable fish of the month"--an idea that should be picked up--was outstandingly tender, cooked to just the right degree of doneness; however, our pasta dressed with a suspiciously named "white meat sauce" was pedestrian. But a wood-fired goat cheese pizza had fresh and well-balanced ingredients, and the restaurant is priced to encourage return visits.
