Tough Work

Being a pop music critic must be tough work, but Peter Margasak makes it look easy. I retract any accusation that this man is an art snob. He's a little prolix and ultraistic, but he's not an art snob. Thanks for the great review of the Undertones. Not overly verbose, it gets to the heart of pop music quite well. Pop music is a lowbrow medium, but it's those hot flashes of creativity, captured on vinyl and subsequent CD reissues, that validate the medium and keep the eternal teenager in most of us alive and well.

Also, thanks for your Critic's Choice on Velvet Crush and for not flaming them too bad. Now that's good writing. Bust a "twee pop nut" indeed. Go around go, and collect $200.
