Tommy Nevin's Pub | Evanston | Bar/Lounge, English/Irish/Scottish, Patio /Beer Garden | Restaurant
Corporate Irish pub with late-night hours, still a rarity in Evanston.

Our Review

The Guinness flows at this Irish-style pub, a popular hangout for Northwestern students and Evanston residents. The comfy dining room (separate from the bar) offers classic American pub grub plus standards such as fish-and-chips, corned beef and cabbage, and shepherd's pie.

Bar Details

Corporate Irish for a collegiate crowd. The best thing about this sprawling restaurant and bar isn't the food (arterially scary) or the pours (stingy in my experience) but the outdoor patio that can make you feel like you're enjoying both. Good weather or no, there's trivia on Tuesday, sports on the plasma TVs, occasional live music, Red Bull concoctions, and specials ($3 shots, $8 pitchers) sure to pull in the Northwestern University kids. It's open till 3 AM Fridays and Saturdays, which is pretty much unheard of in Evanston. —Tony Adler
