To the editors:

There is a kind of man who wants children without saying "Please" and "Thank you" to a woman. Not saying "Please" and "Thank you" is just about the same thing as rape. Jeffery Leving and his colleagues in the divorce racket are practicing criminal law in a civil court ["The Rights of Men," February 23].

There is a kind of man who hates women and his sexual acts are fraught with hostility. He likes the blood and guts of childbirth a lot more than he likes the child. That kind of man will hurt a woman any way he can. If he can't hurt her by making her pregnant, he will hurt her with the threat of legalized kidnapping.

One of the biggest scams right now is the travesty of justice in Domestic Relations Courts around the country. Lawyers with no concern for anything but their paychecks have been supporting a "law" entitled "In the Best Interests of the Child," which is so vague it takes a lot of money spread around among a lot of people to interpret it.

It would be in the best interests of the child to have an unmistakable parent in the form of her who gave him birth, and for the money going to lawyers and ancillary court personnel to go to the upbringing of the child.

If Jeffery Leving and his partners have their way, the only security of custody a woman will have is to sleep with at least three men at the time she ovulates, marry none of them, and head out of town as soon as she gets pregnant. If that is what the law drives women to, it isn't in the best interests of anybody.
