The Transporter Refueled

Rated PG-13 · 96 minutes · 2015

Action, Drama, Thriller
Muscular pretty boy Ed Skrein takes over for Jason Statham in this fourth installment of the popular action franchise, though the real stars are the stunt performers. The elaborate, violent set pieces are impressively orchestrated; some of the highlights include a scene of hand-to-hand combat involving a file cabinet and a multicar chase around and inside the Nice-Cote d'Azur International Airport. The arbitrary plot involves Skrein's driver-for-hire throwing in with a group of high-priced call girls out to take revenge on the men who forced them into prostitution. Director Camille Delamarre (a former editor) maintains a consistently brisk pace without sacrificing his sense of spatial continuity; he also exhibits a predilection for women in lingerie.
