Drama
James Garner and Lou Gossett as a pair of unequal-opportunity con men roaming the post-Civil War west in a simulated master-slave relationship. Much comic sugarcoating around some decidedly undaring racial consciousness, and Garner proves his terminal cuteness in Murphy's Romance wasn't a codgerly aberration. With Susan Clark, Brenda Sykes, and Ed Asner; TV hand Paul Bogart directed, apparently in Burt Kennedy's stead (1971).
