I was pleasantly surprised by the Parrot Cage, a teaching restaurant affiliated with Washburne Culinary Institute. Housed in the South Shore Cultural Center, it offers a superb view of the lake, and Sunday brunch here is a notable spread. Dinner was equally polished, American contemporary standards like seared salmon and braised lamb shank served by a friendly and prompt staff.
