The Marrying Kind

George Cukor's 1952 comedy-drama gave Judy Holliday her finest role, as a housewife who reviews her marriage and the mistakes that led her and her husband (Aldo Ray) to the brink of divorce. Cukor directs in a vaguely neorealist style that seems antithetical to the polished manner of his MGM projects of the 40s.
