In this 2004 drama about love lost and regained, Tadeo (Erando Gonzalez), a once great photographer, now ekes out a living as a street magician in Mexico City with his blind sidekick Felix (Gustavo Muñoz), a drug dealer. After Tadeo begins having visions of people from his past who have died, he decides to reconcile with those he has wronged, especially his bewitching ex-wife (Maya Zapata). First-time director Jaime Aparicio elicits nuanced performances from his fine cast, and cinematographer Diego Arizmendi infuses the gritty surroundings—even the ruined shell of a dope den—with a sad beauty. 98 min. In Spanish with subtitles.
