The Last Remake of Beau Geste

Marty Feldman flogs another dead horse, the desert swashbuckler, with all the misplaced fervor of his mentor, Mel Brooks, but to less avail. Not totally grim, but close. One of the advantages of Brooks's grab-bag technique is that when a gag bombs (often enough), another comes fast enough to cover it. Feldman hits about one in four. Ann-Margret, Michael York, and Peter Ustinov costar (1977).
