Trap Door Theatre has a particular knack for vivisecting the human id onstage, and Werner Schwab's bizarre 1990 play offers a razor-sharp scalpel. Schwab's scatological, sex-focused dialogue bursts from the boundaries of his domestic setting, a living room where three women discuss their hopes and troubles. Under Zeljko Djukic's skilled direction, the cast play the surreal script as quaint comedy, moving wide-eyed toward a sudden, tragic conclusion. Local theater fixture Dado anchors the trio as pinched, shrewish Erma, tinting the character with a vulnerable aloofness. --Keith Griffith
