The Disappearance of Garcia Lorca

A Spanish teenager briefly meets the poet and playwright Federico Garcia Lorca in 1936, just before civil war breaks out. Eighteen years later, working as a journalist in Puerto Rico, he finds himself obsessed with Lorca's mysterious murder and decides, against his father's wishes, to travel back to Franco's Spain. Based on two books about Lorca by Ian Gibson, this feature by writer-director Marcos Zurinaga stars Esai Morales, Edward James Olmos, Andy Garcia (as Lorca), Jeroen Krabbe, and Giancarlo Giannini; Juan Antonio Ramos and Neil Cohen assisted on the script.
