GayCo Productions' latest revue opens with a brilliant, devastatingly funny political sketch about the literal marriage of church and state and closes with a poignant, amusing bit about women who discover they're lesbians late in life. But in between there's only an uneven mix of sluggish moments, banal gags, and sketches that are OK but not spectacular. Ten-year-old GayCo has lost many of its founding members and has yet to regain its tightness as an ensemble or former sharp melding of the personal and the political, though Cynthia Francesconi is a skilled addition. With more tinkering, perhaps the company will find its way. Through 7/8: Fri-Sat 7:45 PM, Theatre Building Chicago, 1225 W. Belmont, 773-327-5252, $20.
