Using an allegedly haunted bar as the backdrop for local ghost lore is a good idea, but this show feels more like a promo for Richard Crowe's "supernatural" Chicago bus tours than a fully developed production. Michael Flores plays Crowe with a shambling, Jon Lovitz-like demeanor, and three young women perform various creepy tales, both amusing (the Hull House devil baby) and heartbreaking (H.H. Holmes--the devil of The Devil in the White City--who, as the show poignantly emphasizes, preyed upon women trying to "create their own lives" by moving to Chicago in search of employment). It's fun to kick back with a beer and hear some of the yarns, but the stop-and-start presentation of the stories and the limited quality of the performances ultimately undercut the possibility of a satisfying whole. --Kerry Reid
