The Breakup Artist

An entertainment reporter with serious commitment problems (Joseph Lyle Taylor) discovers true love while trying to rescue a friend and coworker (Paula Devicq) from marriage to an untrustworthy man. Director Vincent Rubino, who cowrote this 2004 romantic comedy with Pamela Thur, offers nothing that can't be seen any night of the week on network TV. Pleasant, mildly amusing, and thoroughly predictable, this is saved from complete irrelevance by an exceptional cast, including Lee Allen as the hero's father and Sarita Choudhury as a sexy next-door neighbor. 82 min.
