The Bishop's Wife

Treacly Christmas whimsy (1947) with Cary Grant as an angel (named “Dudley”—that should give you some idea) who comes to earth to help a bishop and his wife (David Niven and Loretta Young) raise the money to build a new church. There must be some excuse for this but I can't imagine what it is. Henry Koster directed.
