Tehran 7:00 A.M.

Amir Shahab Razavian's gloomy second feature begins and ends with slow-motion shots of characters crossing a busy Tehran intersection, sequences that establish both their commonality and their isolation. Adapted from Razavian's play by Majid Eslami, this loosely connects stories in which people grapple with unsavory secrets; in the first a distraught traffic cop haltingly confesses his obsessive love to an emotionally remote actress, while in the last story the actress tries to reveal her dark secret to the cop, who has been hospitalized after attempting suicide. A strolling accordionist contributes a plaintive theme throughout, underscoring the roundelay structure. With Behnaz Jafari and Hassan Moazeni. In Farsi with subtitles. 100 min.
