Rated PG · 88 minutes · 1985

Shy teenager Michael J. Fox becomes the toast of his high school when he discovers a hidden talent—the ability to turn into a cuddly werewolf at will. Veteran TV director Rod Daniel (WKRP in Cincinnati) does all he can to reduce the screenplay's dimly promising equation of lycanthropy and adolescent sexual anxiety into a glob of sitcom sweetness, giving this 1985 feature a cheerful, bland, cartoonish style that quickly eliminates any possibility of authentic human reactions. Fox somehow survives on the sheer force of a pleasant screen presence, but those who remember The Shaggy Dog ought to stay away. With James Hampton, Scott Paulin, and Jay Tarses. 91 min.
