Re: “Blue Note Memories

A well-written, heartwarming and nostalgic story that brings back a beautiful memory of the one time I, a 17 year-old teenager, and a few friends attended one night in 1951 to hear Stan Kenton and his band at the Blue Note.

It wasn't too long after that that the Korean War came along and I left the Chicago area never to return, sadly to say, because I missed some of the greatest muscial artists of the time. Frank was a great and good man and we shall not see his like again nor will that wonderful time when you could see and hear great musical talent close up and at relatively little cost ever return.

But the memory of those great artists will always remain in my memory and in all those who were privileged to hear them at the Blue Note.

God bless you Frank and may you rest in peace.
