TAYLOR SAVVY

Nasty weirdo Peaches keeps ropin' her old Toronto pals into the randy rodeo she's set in motion in Berlin: now she's convinced Dave Szigeti to join her abroad and on yet another exhaustive U.S. tour. Back home Szigeti, also known as "Daddy," had a solo act involving "sensuous string" compositions and beatboxing, played in a Cajun folk band called Swamperella, and collaborated with Peaches and Gonzales in a heavy-metal-house group, Freedom. Now he's morphed into the suave, well-heeled sloganeer Taylor Savvy. His new four-song EP, Jealousy (Kitty-Yo), vacillates almost imperceptibly between syrupy new wave and mannered honky rap, taking on the theme of the title track--that old green-eyed monster--with cool disaffection. If you're down with any sort of unserious fun, you really should catch this (p)arty posse in action--a year from now it'll probably have been replaced by the next delicious all-day sucker, and I mean that in the nicest possible way. Thursday, August 2, 10 PM, Fireside Bowl, 2646 W. Fullerton; 773-486-2700. Friday, August 3, 10 PM, Empty Bottle, 1035 N. Western; 773-276-3600.
