For more than 20 years, Factory Theater's found success with overwrought material so artfully awful it's terrific. At first Stacie Barra's new comedy seems to fit that mold. Recently unemployed corporate drone Caroline needs her two besties—freaky free spirit Margo and maniacal mommy blogger Holly—to get her back on her feet. They encourage her to market and sell her addictive cake balls, which may be unwittingly laced with crack unwittingly borrowed from her sweet-old-lady neighbor Edith, who may be a Peruvian drug lord. Barra's got everything she needs for another Factory hit (including her own outstanding performance as Holly) except the awfulness. Instead she's written a well-behaved semi-legit comedy that's adequately amusing but never satisfyingly outrageous.—Justin Hayford
