Sushi/Frito | Greenhouse Theater Center | Theater & Performance | Chicago Reader
This is a past event.
God bless Melissa DuPrey for acknowledging that sex is the most ridiculous thing human beings can do to one another—and to ourselves—and for being able to discuss her ass and nipple hair and her passionate, lifelong devotion to self-love with a complete and utter lack of shame. The first half of Sushi-Frito will be familiar to anybody who saw last spring's Sexomedy. The second half—comprising material from a new, as-yet-untitled show about DuPrey's quest for love and an exploration of her Puertorriqueña identity—isn't quite as hilarious, but DuPrey is just as brave and honest talking about loneliness as she is about her dating life. Sex is one thing. But finding a guy who'll come home and drink coquito with your family is some serious business. —Aimee Levitt
