Re: “The trip that sank before it sailed

My husband and I were members of the Symphonic Voyages orchestra in 2011.
It was one of the most amazing opportunities we have experienced in our musical careers.

Although the 2012 SV musicians lost out on budgeted income and some of us lost out on purchased airfare, we did not lose the deposits or payments like some of the patrons. So, I’m sure there are some very angry people out there, but my husband and I are not among them.

We believe that the Symphonic Voyages is a terrific idea. We know how hard Eric Stassen worked to try make a wonderful Music Festival at Sea. It is unfortunate that it didn’t work, the second time. Clearly he did not put Symphonic Voyages into bankruptcy on purpose. We feel terrible for him (and everyone, including ourselves) about how it turned out. It’s a horrible thing for someone’s business to go belly-up.

I hope that people will continue to support him and this idea, should he decide to make another go of it.
