Re: “The Lunchbox

M. Marcus is partially correct. The disembodied voice is her Aunt. The wife describes in detail that her uncle who lives upstairs was paralyzed by a stroke, in which he is unable to speak, and only stares at a ceiling fan. When the power goes out and her uncle's breathing becomes labored, the aunt subsequently buys a generator because she believes the fan's constant motor is somehow keeping her husband alive.

Re: “CTA’s cloth seat coverings, source of public transit horror stories, might be replaced

What's wrong with cloth backs and plastic seats? That plastic feels pretty cold in winter.

Re: “The Rip Van Rauner State of the State

Rauner is ALWAYS campaigning. Stop campaigning and govern! Also, his "My way or the highway" stance is only bankrupting this state. "Factory workers in Indiana, Wisconsin, Iowa, Tennessee, and South Carolina, when you adjust for the cost of living, now make more than workers in Illinois." That's a bald-face LIE. (Per Indeed. com) Starting salary for an average factory worker in IL is $29K. A worker in IA, IN and WI makes $25K, $24, and $22K, respectively. Two of the three are right-to-work states (not sure about IA) and ALL the salaries are within the federal poverty level. Simply put, why does Rauner want Illinoisans make less? So he can make more as a robber-baron. Rauner is so full of BS I can't stand it.

Re: “Crazy old Bowie may be the best Bowie yet

"In the grand scheme of the Bowieverse, Blackstar is an album that I reckon will rank near the top when he's dead and gone." Pretty prophetic, huh?

Re: “The Lunchbox

J.R. Jones: Did you even bother to watch the movie, or did you just write it off because you dislike having to read subtitles? The film very engaging and endearing. Not just a knock-off of a Tom Hanks/Meg Ryan film.
