Veronica (Beverly Hills 90210's Kathleen Robertson) is in love with two guys willing to tolerate each other in her bed. In a voice-over she says her suburban upbringing must have prompted her to become unconventional; it isn't until both boyfriends have moved in that she realizes how difficult it is to have a nontraditional lifestyle. Judgments—including ours—made about her behavior are called into question by scenes such as one in which she overhears some women gossiping about her, and the garish production design both exalts and trivializes the story line, equating the heavily accessorized characters with props without dehumanizing them. Veronica, Abel, and Zed's experiences become increasingly mundane in this instructive comedy, which is marvelously neutral toward a type of sexual and domestic relationship that's often exploited or overblown. Written and directed by Gregg Araki (The Doom Generation); with Johnathon Schaech, Matt Keeslar, Kelly Mcdonald, and Eric Mabius.
