Soup and Bread

When: Wed., Jan. 2, 5:30 p.m. 2013
Today marks the fifth anniversary of Soup and Bread, the weekly dinner party in which local chefs—some of them notable culinary masters, others simply ambitious amateurs—warm the masses with preprepared soups. For this year's inaugural event, Swim Cafe, Milk & Honey Cafe, La Sirena Clandestina, Wendy Miller, and Martha Bayne—the mastermind behind Soup and Bread—will be the chefs. Publican Quality Meats is providing the bread. New to the agenda, theme nights will be incorporated this year, with the first one being "Green." My sights are set on the last week of January, when the theme is "Beans, beer, and bacon," truly a harmonious trio. Donations benefit the Casa Catalina Food Pantry.
