Re: “Inside Out, soon to be a major emotion picture

Too strident by half, Rod. Rotten Tomatoes is what it is. Anyone with the desire and capacity to really get an idea of the experience a movie is likely to provide will use it to link to actually read some reviews. Kvetching over what constitutes "fresh" or "rotten" is kind of pissing in the wind at this point, and the overall % is still a pretty decent measure of how well critics on the whole liked a movie.

The fact that you may think a movie with a 37% TM is "great" or a 95%+ movie is "pretentious horseshit" (an "I'm all grows up up but not really!" criticism to lob at a movie, by the way) is irrelevant. Every film fan is going to split with the critical majority at times. That doesn't mean RT's process is flawed.

Shannon . . the "kids were squirming, etc" line is never a good defense for an opinion, just like "people were falling asleep." It's usually bull, first off, and at the very best it's purely anecdotal. It's a flimsy "strength in numbers" defense. Second, toddlers are not the target audience for Pixar. I would think this would be obvious by now.
