Sirens Present Paper Trail

When: Saturdays, 8 p.m. Continues through Aug. 23 2008
Price: $12
Each week one of the performers in the veteran all-female troupe Sirens begins this long-form improv show by orchestrating a staged reading from TV, film, or theater. Since the others don't know the script ahead of time, they must create voices for the reading on the spot, and then they all improvise from there. At the show I saw a tense scene from the movie Bring It On was picked. No one conjured up a believable character, but the group got laughs from takes on a horny teacher and a homeless, schizophrenic chess genius. (RH)
