This annual festival of solo performance, now in its fourth year, features more than 20 pieces by local, national, and international artists. It runs 8/18-8/28 at the Breadline Theatre, 1802 W. Berenice, and Theatre Building Chicago, 1225 W. Belmont. Tickets are $20 per show; $12 for students. Help Wanted: A Personal Search for Meaningful Employment at the Start of the 21st Century and Puppy Love: A Stripper's Tail

A visitor from Washington, D.C., Josh Lefkowitz recounts his "quest for professional liberty and personal happiness" in Help Wanted. In Puppy Love, Erin Markey "turns and teaches tricks to, for, and with her audience," instructing them in time-tested techniques of housebreaking and home wrecking. a Breadline, 8 PM.

Rude Boy and I'm Not Trying to Get an Agent, This Is My School Project

San Francisco hip-hop performer Ismail Azeem portrays a janitor in Rude Boy, reflecting on such events as the Rodney King riots and his own time in a mental hospital. Jen Bosworth-Ramirez explores her own Hispanic childhood in I'm Not Trying to Get an Agent. a Breadline, 8 PM.

Cucumber Dreams

New York artist Michael Burke's comic monologue focuses on the love lives of young gay urbanites. a Breadline, 10:30 PM.

Workshop With Omar Sangare

Polish writer-performer Sangare, creator of True Theater Critic (see Critic's Choice), focuses on Stanislavsky and Grotowski techniques in this workshop. a Act One, 2 PM.

If I Holler and Rude Boy

Single File's marketing consultant Jessica Kivnik leads a workshop on marketing techniques for the actor, independent theater troupe, and small-theater owner. a Act One, 7 PM.

Delores Dogan and Vegas, Baby

A double bill, coproduced by Serendipity Theatre Company. Emily Churchill stars in Courtney Shaughnessy's solo about female adolescence, directed by Adam Belcuore. Gerritt O'Neill presents his solo about life in Vegas and the struggle to get out. a Breadline, 8 PM.
