Short Attention Span Theatre II | Chase Park | Theater & Performance | Chicago Reader
This is a past event.
The great thing about this festival of one-acts, now in its second year, is its organizing principle—if you're not feeling the play you're watching, you need only wait 15 minutes for the next one. Presented by Fury Theatre, the eclectic collection of eight shorts contains a couple standout comedies: Patrick Bromley and Stephanie Corkery's portrayal of a couple too narcoleptic to finish their arguments was a humorous take on the nature of real-life relationship drama, and the closing act was hilariously narrated by a bench notorious as a meeting spot for couples on the rocks. The show's more serious plays felt less resonant, but on the other hand they didn't last too long—and, to occupy any wandering minds, the playbill's last page was left blank for doodling. —Jillian Sandler
